I’ve been ridiculously busy these past days, even for me.. We have this huge Norwegian project which basically is nothing but a time consumer! There’s also maths, chemistry, history, P.E., religion, and oh yeah, I actually have a life outside school (or at least, I used to)..

I can’t wait to finish upper secondary school and have a gap year before I go to London to study!! In the meantime, here are some pictures of my favourite models/future best friends:

Coco Rocha:

Oh, the busy life of a Rema-working nerd! I worked 5 days last week.. Can’t decide whether 11 hours on Saturday from 7.30 to 6.30 were the best, or the 4 hours in the store on Sunday with me, myself, my uncharged iPod and LOTS of new labels to put in their right place(okay, so there was two other guys there, but seriously).. I would normally opt for the Sunday, however hours of maths and chemistry laid ahead. I fell asleep though, and I blame Mia!
Instead I spent hours in front of this laptop which has mysteriously transformed into a desktop.. At all times, I now have the laptop, the charger, earphones, a mouse, my camera and its cabel and let’s not forget; the external hard drive which has to stand behind the laptop to support the screen from falling down. Yep, a desktop!

whitneyI just had to post this picture because I love Whitney’s outfit!

Other than that I can inform that my friend, Ann-Kristin and I, used to go to aerobics from we were 15 until we were 18. Fun, you say? Yeah, especially when the other ladies there are all 50+ and they are all more fit than us.. Quite depressing really.. Anyways, Katharina joined us the last 6 months, and now, after 6 months off, we’ve gained new strenght to start again!! Today was the first day, and to put it this way: I won’t be doing much for the rest of the week….

aerobic1That’s me, Ann-Kristin and Katharina:) (And an unindentified, rather masculine, 50+ female)

It’s time for me to get to bed so my poor muscles can start doing whatever they do, to make the next days a living hell for me!!

As mentioned before, I worked on Tuesday night. The store is supposed to close at 10pm, but I can forgive those who are a bit late and leave the store at 10.05. I can not, however, forgive the lady who left the store at 10.30!!!! How is it possible to walk around in a grocery store when everything is being covered up and lights are being turned off, without understanding that the store is closed!?!?! And to make it better, it was freezing outside when I finally got to leave.. The result was this outfit on Wednesday; warm, comfy and big!

Thanks to Mia for the photo! (I particularly enjoyed the moment when IH scanned my outfit with her evil eyes(..) before the picture was taken..)
Wellies, wool socks, jeans, wool sweater, jacket and fur hat = I was warm!!:D

And oh yeah, I didn’t end up with doing nothing yesterday, I ended up at my best friend Line’s house with candy, grapes, chemistry homework (I got a 5 on my test BTW!!) and “Step Up”! Another late night, but so worth it. So late actually, that I fell asleep(again) today while doing my homework..

Now I have to run cus I have a choir practice (yay, I’m a geek!!) to get to, but hopefully tomorrow will bring some sort of shocking news I can share with .. absolutely no one! Haha, blogging is great!! ;)

i’m only human

January 27, 2009

Ahh, it’s 00.19 right now and I’m finally done with a chemistry test, an English test, two evenings at work and P.E.-homework. It feels like it’s already weekend (let’s just for a sec forget that I have to get up in 6 1/2 hours..)! I was so knackered when I got to math today that I had no choice but to talk, after all, I’m only human! And I’ll only be human tomorrow when I get to math as well.. It’s gonna be great!!

Today’s outfit:
cut-1

Jeans:Nudie. Wool socks: No idea. Shoes: Black converse. Grey singlet:Cubus. White t-shirt:Bik Bok. Blazer: H&M. Necklace: Norwegian 1NOK coin from 1940 (nota 5NOK coin from 2008, Hanne..)

I take my outfit pictures outside nowadays because the scenary is so amazing (earlier tonight it was negative 12 degrees Celsius and 1 meter snow.) When I took my pictures today however, the neighbours started watching me like I was an alien or something.. I grabbed my camera, gave a cheesy smile and ran inside before I had to go to work.

20090128_1711-b

Kinda hard to see, but I had some braids in my hair today. It only took me about 15 minutes, 1/3 of the time I have in the mornings..

Tomorrow I’m not doing one thing after school, except relaxing. Heaven on earth, you said? I choose to believe so, yes!

Guess who totally rocked their chemistry test today!? Yep, it was me : D
I don’t have high expectations in this particular subject because – well, the teacher doesn’t like to see us succeed..  Hopefully he’ll give me a 4 or better (our grades range from 1(flunk) to 6(great!)) on it, and in chemistry that would be A OK!

Today’s outfit looked like this:

cut-3Tights: Pierre Robert. Long white vest: Bik Bok. Grey sweater (worn as dress): H&M men’s department. Watch: My grandpa’s old one.

cut-2

Now I have to read about the Victorian Age for my English test tomorrow.. That basically means that my school day tomorrow will be all about music (I love my new Duffy CD!!) and iced coffee!!<3

as the snow fell down

January 25, 2009

Yesterday was snowy. Very snowy. After some (….) of us had troubles getting to the train station in time, Daniel, Eirik, Mats and I took the train to Oslo where slushy streets and basically a blizzard were waiting for us. We walked through entire Karl Johan (the main shopping street), but I was seriously disappointed. There were sales everywhere. And not the good kinda sale where you find stuff you want and need, but the messy kind without any good items.. So the day got dedicated to great food at Bagel & Juice, hot chocolat ala Tonje and Daniel, and the basics:
*Tank tops
*Plain, white t-shirts
20090126_16881
*A blazer^
*Leather strings
*CDs:
-Duffy – Rockferry
-Eva Cassidy – Songbird
-Pink Floyd – The Dark Side of the Moon
-The Beatles – 1962-1966
I’ll just have to wait a couple of weeks before all the new clothes arrive, and then me and my credit card will go back and do what we do best: S-P-E-N-D!

After Oslo I got home to dinner and some more Gossip Girl before Daniel, Eirik, Mats, Christian, and eventually Mia, came to me for a movie and “some” ice cream! We ended the night with a snowball fight in my street, it was the funniest thing ever!!

Today is all about chemistry as I have a test tomorrow, and removing the snow from my garden so I can get to school relatively dry..
20090126_1691However, considering this is my garden I think my best friends this week will be my wool socks and wellies!

eating well, sleeping well

January 23, 2009

4 periods of history and 3 periods of Norwegian is what my schedule looks like on Fridays.. Thank God, we have our driver’s license and a grocery store close by! We drove down during lunch and bought taco and candy and ice coffee, and enjoyed it while doing this huge Norwegian project.

By the way, it’s snowing again (should have worn my wellies!!) so I wrapped up in a looong scarf I knitted 3 years ago:

20090124_1663-bI gave up having an ugly backpack – which actually did fit all my books – for a much prettier satchel, which basically means I carry my books in my hands or in plastic bags.. Good thing I live 5 minutes from school. And that I work at a grocery store where I get unlimited access to plastic bags, as they often tear by my massive amount of books..8-)

20090124_1667-b

Cardigan: Gina Tricot. Scarf: Knitted by me. Jeans: Big Bok (horrible jeans, never again!!). Shoes: Dorothy Perkins. Satchel: Warehouse. Bangles: Oasis.

Finally week 4 is over: 2 weeks left until I’m going to a friend’s cabin for the weekend, and 3 weeks until my amazing exchange partner from England – Alice – arrives! : )
Tonight I’m spending the night with the girls, watching a movie, gossiping a bit and going to bed early for once!!

On Saturday I’m going to Oslo to finally get some shopping done!! All I want is to buy summer-y clothes, but I realised that the winter is nowhere near over, and it is perhaps time to get me some proper shoes and warm cardigans and so on. On Monday I had to stomp through my garden, because it did absolutely not occur to me to walk the 200 meters extra to avoid the snow.. But fortunately I was smart enough to put on the longest wool stockings ever AND wellingtons (as mentioned before, I do not own any sort of winter boots)! I felt smart all the way until I ran into the mayor of my hometown. He’s about 40 years old and when he saw my feet, he gave me the most approving smile I’ve ever seen.. I gave him back the fakest smile he’s ever seen, and thought “excuse me for trying out a bit more controversial version of fashion meets comfort meets Norwegian winter..”
Anyways, I found these pictures as inspiration:

sienna-miller-61I love the shoes!

The Olsen twins visit BourdelleMinus the leggings. I don’t do leggings.. Give me jeans or tights!

mischa-barton-t-mobile-3This just reminds me of how I must find the perfect army jacket! Why is it always that the things you really want, you can never seem to find?..

I see now that none of these outfits would actually withstand the slush covering the streets, but who cares!? If I get sick, at least I’ll have more time at home, watching Gossip Girl!!

come january i’ll wear

January 20, 2009

I don’t have Internet on my computer these days so I don’t have access to my ridiulous amount of pictures. Therefore I found some of my favourite looks from Ready to Wear Fall/Winter 08 to show you! : )

00010m1

00020m1

I love the folklore-ish military look Gucci went for.

00090m1

The sexy strictness from Givenchy.

00310m1

The laidback and urban hippie from Burburry Prorsum.

00210m1

And of course the everlasting Parisian chic from Chanel : )

Friday night was finally prom night! Had to have 4 lessons of history before we did some last minute preparations (of course I was super worried about anything at all going wrong), so when I sat down in the chair at the hair salon I was so happy! They treated me like a Hollywood star for 3 hours while fixing my hair and makeup, and even though it was expensive, it was so worth it!! : D

And then the party started! It was really classy and everyone looked so good, and that’s big coming from me! I usually hate those unpersonal dresses everyone in Norway tend to wear to these occasions..
We just danced, laughed and had a great time, especially in the car on out way home! : p

russeball-6Me on the left with my friend Anette. I wore a black floor length dress with dark-silver beads and sequins around the chest. It was pleated from the chest and down, and I had the “shawl” tied around my waist with a bow on the back to cover up this hideous brooch.. A silver clutch, snake bangle around my arm and almost 4 inches high heels from Dorothy Perkins, a cheap copy of the Dior shoes Carrie wore in SATC: The movie:

Don’t you just love prom!!
